About the “Pee Dee Foodie”
Pee Dee Foodie, aka Kevin Barron, is the founder and publisher of PeeDeeFoodie.com™, as well as host (and sometimes moderator) for the Pee Dee Food Show™ podcast available on iTunes.
Born in Charleston, South Carolina, he’s a native of the Low Country region, but grew up in other parts of the nation before returning to the Palmetto State and settling in the Pee Dee region. Much of his life outside South Carolina was spent in and around the Southern foodie havens of New Orleans and Memphis. He is a self-described food geek and recent graduate of Leadership Florence, as well as an active supporter of Harvest Hope Food Bank and other local non-profits. He enjoys writing and the creative processes involved in web design and podcast production … and a good cannoli.
Until recently, Pee Dee Foodie was an anonymous blogger. That changed in October 2011 at the Taste of Florence. He enjoys family, friends, and food of all kinds. Want to know more? Just ask.
Website Dedication
The re-launch of this website with its current theme occurred on May 6, 2010 — near Mother’s Day of that year. As such, this blog is dedicated to all of the mothers in our lives. They work without recognition, they care without limits and they set an example to which we should all aspire. They also fed us very well, as we grew into the foodies (and adults) that we are today.
We’re pleased to be a Featured and Ranked Blog on Urbanspoon.com
