Weight Watchers: Picking Up Where I Left Off
Brief Health Status Update
As a reader of PeeDeeFoodie.com and as member of our online family, you recall that I’ve been dealing with some serious health issues in recent months. In attempt to diagnose the issues’ origins, I’ve been through a litany of EKGs, blood tests, CT scans, and physical examinations. What are the results so far? Simple. There’s nothing wrong with me.
Well, that simple statement is true, but only up to a point. As my physician said to me recently, “I think there is something that we’re dancing around here.” While it may not come as a huge surprise to you, I had completely missed it. It’s my weight.
If you were with me at the start of this year, you recall that I was doing something about my eating habits and my weight back then. I enrolled in Weight Watchers Online, lost upwards of thirty pounds, the promptly stopped when these aforementioned symptoms started. You see, in my mind, I tied the fact that I had lost a significant amount of weight to the beginning of those health issues. That may sound illogical to you, but it made sense to me at the time. It’s not that that I thought that the excess weight was somehow healthier, but that I thought the change had been too much too soon. Ironically, I’m now being told that is not the case, because other causes have been ruled out — thankfully. The solution, I’m told, is to restart what I stopped.
Next Steps on My Journey
Starting today, I’m picking up where I left off. I’m going back to Weight Watchers Online. I’ll change things gradually, tracking my PointsPlus values using the iPhone application that’s available in the iTunes store. I’ll allow myself to indulge periodically, because if I see the required changes as being too drastic or draconian I’ll probably find an excuse to quit or stray from the plan. I’ve learned a lot about myself in recent weeks and months, including how my mind focuses on my goals. I honestly believe that I’m ready to tackle this one.
Your support through your comments and suggestions made a big difference earlier this year, so I’m going to ask for your support again now. I plan to provide updates here on PeeDeeFoodie.com and I ask that you add your thoughts in the comment sections of my posts or on my personal Facebook Page.
