Mark Palmer, owner of SweetLeigh’s Cakes and Treats, joins us to talk about his passion for baking, his hobby, and his plans for the future. SweetLeigh’s Cakes and Treats started as a hobby and it still is, but has grown a lot in the last year. They mainly cater to individuals (birthdays, luncheons, Sunday dinner, holidays, etc…), but we have prepared cakes for larger events such as, banquets, rehearsal dinners, meetings and wedding receptions. They don’t do wedding cakes in the traditional sense, but we have provided them for weddings that have a “table of sweets” or a “table of cakes” vs. one large wedding cake. Their mission is to create cakes that taste great from first bite to last…cakes that leave an impression and become ingrained in your memory. They make you remember where you were when you had your first slice. As you will hear in this podcast, they love what they do.
