All you need is a few ingredients.

[Listen to Episode 026 of the Pee Dee Food Show]

On a recent episode of the Pee Dee Food Show (PDFS 026), Bill Pickle, a senior-level certified South Carolina Barbecue Association contest judge, shared his recipe for a “Sweet Mustard & Vinegar Barbecue Sauce.” In case you didn’t have an opportunity to take notes while listening we thought we’d share it with you here.

Sweet Mustard & Vinegar Barbecue Sauce

1 cup – Vegetable Oil
1 cup – Apple Cider Vinegar
6 Tbsp – Dijon Mustard
2 Tbsp – Maple Syrup
3 tsp – Worcestershire Sauce
1 tsp – Red Pepper Flakes
2 tsp – Salt
1/2 tsp Ground Black Pepper
1/2 cup – Dark Brown Sugar

Mix all ingredients in a gallon pickle jar (no pun intended) by closing and shaking it vigorously. Try it on anything and everything, as it will keep for month if stored properly.

If you make this new sauce at home, tell us what you think. We’ll be sure to pass it along to Bill.
