A Sneak Peek at SWEET
Today was the soft-opening of SWEET. A Cupcake Company and we were invited by Suzy Moyd and Kyja Lee to attend. Kyja’s first name is pronounced “Ki-ya”.
Where do I even begin to describe SWEET without gushing? From the cream-colored floor tiles and cupcake mosaic at the entrance to the Tiffany blue and white-washed finishes, SWEET is a refreshing and relaxing place to visit, nosh, and socialize. See our photo gallery below to get a good feel for the interior and fixtures, as well as the goodies available for purchase. Some of the cupcakes you’ll see were created especially for She magazine, so you’re getting an extra sneak peek with those.

A Bit About SWEET
From their brochure, “Every morning, we start with pure Madagascar bourbon vanilla, luscious chocolates, rich European butter and only fresh, seasonal fruits. All of our gourmet cupcakes are baked in small batches daily for optimum freshness,, and without preservatives or hydrogenated oils. Try them with a chilled bottled of SWEET cow milk or a cup of locally roasted, organic coffee from Charleston Coffee Roasters.” “Don’t see what you’re looking for? Give us a shout – we love a challenge and will try our best to make you happy!” Kyja does the baking and Suzy does the marketing. Given the number of businesses that were “SWEET’D” recently, the two of them have been extremely busy recently. We expect they will only get busier from today forward.
Kyja prepares over thirty delectable delights. Each day a different different variety is baked fresh without preservatives or hydrogenated oils. Mondays through Fridays always include the versions known as Confused, Night and Day, The White House, and Paint the Town Red Velvet cupcakes. The flavors will change every Saturday to keep the variety fresh and the flavors creative. What do you think of those flavor names? Pretty neat. Oh, and note that a gluten-free option is always available.

Our Impressions
Our little group really enjoyed Gluten-Free lemon, Confused, Clockwork Orange, and Salted Caramel cupcakes along with cappuccinos and ice-cold bottled SWEET milk. You’ve got to see the neat bottles that the milk comes in; only $1.00. Together, we purchased Paint the Town Red Velvet, Salted Caramel, and the Burris to take home to our families. Of the three, our houshold was sold on the Salted Caramel — hands down.
While we were there today, between 10:30 and 11:30, there was a steady stream of visitors attending this first preview day. The Grand Opening is next week, so look for the announcements and don’t miss it. We’ll be back again and again.
As a matter of fact, I went back to SWEET again later today in hopes of speaking with Kyja for an interview for the blog, but she was extemely busy. That’s a great sign for a new and innovative business such as SWEET. Given that, we will share another post about SWEET after our interview is completed later this week.
