Let's make some Lynchburg Lemonade!

Welcome to Week Eight of my favorite time of the year is here: College Football Season!  Most of you that read this go to football games for many reasons: the pageantry, seeing old friends, making new friends and obviously the game.  In this series I will talk about the most delicious part… THE TAILGATING! Here’s the background, again.  Food at football games sometimes gets a little too simple.  All you see sometimes are wings, chips and sandwiches.  I was just as guilty of it until I worked with a guy that had a pretty odd superstition.  Whomever we (University of South Carolina, of course) played, he had to always either drink or eat something that had the other team’s name in it.  Going with this, I started to do the same thing and it has come to the point where I sometimes become just as superstitious as him!

So in honor of this, I’m going to go through the USC football schedule and pair up the schedule for Tailgating with Taste.  Here we go with Week Eight.

It’s the University of South Carolina vs. Vanderbilt University.  Go Cocks!

Well we are playing against Tennessee teams back to back, so for this one, break out the Jack Daniels with the country music (fyi, go to Lower Broadway and find a Rockabilly bar. I think that the best rockabilly bands are here, just overshadowed by country).

Make some Lynchburg Lemonade:  One part Jack Daniel’s, Sweet and Sour and Triple Sec with 4 parts Sprite. “Season” to taste!  Enjoy.

Check back next week when we take on our next Tennessee foe.  The Volunteers from Knoxville.
