Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival
Are you a Mouseke-foodie? Then join PeeDeeFoodie.com (my family and me) as we plan our upcoming return to Walt Disney World for the 15th Anniversary Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival. Running from October 1 - November 14, 2010, we plan to be there during final weekend of October. To paraphrase the official website, we plan to “explore flavors and beverages of the world in the Marketplaces, discover new cuisines by renowned chefs, indulge our senses with international wines, beers, and spirits during specialty programs, as well as attend demonstrations and seminars.”As this is our first time to attend, if you have attended or plan to attend this year, please consider this an OPEN THREAD. Feel free to add your comments, ideas and plans for open discussion. This Walt Disney World culinary superstar event is now a decade-and-a-half old, but just getting started.

The Official Art for 2010 was created by Tim Rogerson of Orlando. Click to visit his blog at http://timrogerson.blogspot.com to view more of his amazing work.
To get our discussion started, here are a few resources that we’ve located from across the web:
> DISNEYFOODBLOG.COM — A.J., chief foodie, is the authority on all things Disney from the five-star kitchens to the theme parks snack wagons. This specific link will take you to DFB’s comprehensive pre-Festival coverage and its exclusive 2010 WDW Foodie Fest event. Are you going to Walt Disney World anytime soon? Visit DisneyFoodBlog.com before you book those ressies!
> ALLEARS.NET– AllEars is a website for the Disney Fan extraordinaire. While it covers everything from accommodations to tickets, it specifically has a very helpful post called Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival 101. Get the lay of the land and plan your walking tour of World Showcase as it is be ringed with booths and eateries anxious to share bits and bites from across the globe.
> INTERCOT.COM– Intercot has to be my favorite Disney fan site. I say that not so much because of the park details and related links, but for the Discussion Boards. Extremely knowledgeable and friendly people frequent the boards at Intercot and the support from the moderators is excellent. From restaurant recommendations to tips for taking toddlers on Dumbo the Flying Elephant, you’ll find the answers you’re looking for on Intercot. (Note: I alwayswear my Intercot.com t-shirt at least once when we visit WDW. The community is huge.)
All of us here in the Pee Dee know how to have a good time, even beyond the Pee Dee. With the Festival just a matter of weeks away, now is the time to get your trip organized, if you’ll be sharing the experience with us this year. Have Fun. Eat Well.
